What Data Does IAOM Collect and Why We Collect It?
Most data IAOM collects are used only to help us better serve our members. It is our general policy to collect and store only personal information that our members and visitors knowingly provide.

From General Users.
IAOM collects information from users browsing its website through Google Analytics, a service which collects information anonymously and reports website trends without identifying individual visitors. Only aggregate data — such as the number of hits per page or general user information — are collected. Aggregate data are only used for internal and marketing purposes and do not provide any personally identifying information.

Google Analytics uses its own cookie to track visitor interactions. To learn more about the information collected by Google Analytics, please visit https://www.google.com/policies/privacy

From IAOM’s Members, Prospective Members, Meeting Registrants, and Other Customers. In addition to the information collected from general users, to gain access to members-only resources, event registration, and IAOM’s online store, members and other users are asked to register and provide limited information. This information is submitted voluntarily. IAOM asks users to provide their name, title, organization name, work and home address, and e-mail. Additional information may be requested but is not required. Similar information may be submitted to IAOM through membership applications, conference or district/region meeting registrations, publication orders, subscriptions, and course registrations. Additionally, for some e-mails sent in HTML format by IAOM to its members through its electronic newsletters, we will collect specific information regarding what the recipient does with that email, such as whether a recipient subsequently clicks through to links provided in the message.

How Does IAOM Use Cookies?

IAOM uses cookies only to facilitate automated activity, store and track passwords, determine appropriate solicitations, and review navigation patterns. Cookies are not used to disseminate significant information about Users over the Internet or to analyze any information that Users have knowingly or unknowingly provided. When a user registers, the system will check if the user approves of the attachment of a cookie. Users may instruct their Internet browsers to opt out of accepting a “persistent” cookie and rather accept only a “per-session” cookie but will need to login each time they visit the site to enjoy the full benefits. If the user declines the attachment of any cookie, the user may not have access to the full benefits of the website. Registration enables the site to better determine users’ interests and provide the most relevant information.

You may refuse to accept cookies by altering the settings on your internet browser (for example Internet Explorer, Chrome and Firefox). For further information about how to refuse cookies, please refer to your browser ‘Help’ section or see www.allaboutcookies.org.
