IAOM-KSU Basic Milling Principles

IAOM-KSU resident milling course

Participants will develop a conceptual understanding of the milling process with a focus on mill balance and setting the break system.   

Course objective: Provide a greater knowledge of the milling process and how employees impact the process.

Course topics: Topics include principles of wheat cleaning, conditioning and milling; understanding the importance of wheat quality and preparation to the milling process; and the advantages of wheat and flour blending.

Required skill level: Practical work experience in a flour mill (minimum of 1 year).

Prerequisite: IGP-KSU Introduction to Flour Milling or IGP Overview of Flour Milling.

Who should attend: Milling engineers, operation managers, production managers and shift managers.

Course minimum: 10 participants.
